A new version of BTP 1.5 was released to the public today. For the most part the interface is the same, but they have added a few new things and moved some things around a bit.
UI Changes:
- New Tree-View on the left of the program that holds your recipes, inventory, program ingredient list, style information, and equipment settings. Much of the information described existed before, but now it's more accessible. I specifically like being able to track my current inventory. You could do this before, but it was much harder to manager
- Unit selection boxes are gone. All unit changes are now context based, which means if you right click on the box it will give you the conversion options. You can also type into the box and specify the units that way.
- Ingredient selections are now displayed at the top of the program instead of in a different window. This is a good idea in practice, but there really isn't much space for the items being displayed
- Drag and Drop capability allows you to move items from the list at the top to your recipe ingredients.
Other than that I don't notice a whole lot. The printing in my opinion could still be a lot better, among other things, but this is definitely an improvement.
Here is a link to some propaganda from the Beer Tools Pro site about the update. The article outlines some of the new features.
