Aroma:
Breathes like a light belgian with little or no traces of brettanomyces. Very faint hop aroma
Appearance:
Amber golden brown. Head is plentiful when poured too fast or down the center but does not retain shape for long. A few floaters on the bottom and around the side of the glass.
Flavor:
Tastes very much like a Belgian ale with a mild tartness and a peppery like finish that lingers in the mouth well after it goes down. The brettanomyces is apparent but there are other flavors apparent that balance well with it.
Mouthfeel:
Drinks cool and clean but has a decent body that holds throughout. Could have some more head retention and stronger carbonation.
Overall Impression:
Excellent ale that brings in the great flavor of brett but mixes it with traditional Belgian spiciness that Ommegang is so well known for. Has an interesting peppery flavor that lingers and make you want to drink more to freshen it up. I vote A-.
