Aroma:
Little to no aroma, but maybe a hint of oak.
Appearance:
Medium yellow/orange in color with a strong holding head with small bubbles. Beer is slightly cloudy, enough so that its hard to see the bubble unless you hold it up to a light source (in my case the sun).
Flavor:
Initially tasted nice and light, but then immediately hits you with a oak flavor mixed with a little brett. It finishes nicely with a little brett that lingers a little but only for a minute or so. The mix of flavors is a little oaky, spicey, peppery, some bitter. Its the spicey brett and bitterness that seems to linger the most.
Mouthfeel:
Head is light, fluffy, leaves an initial oak or brett flavor and finishes light bitter and fruitiness. Initially was light but has a very meaty middle that suites the beer well. The mouthfeel seems right about on, but maybe could be a little less full if you want to guide it strictly as a golden ale. I would compare the mouthfeel difference akin to the difference between a Belgian Saison and a French Bier De Garde, where this golden ale is like the more meaty Bier De Garde.
Overall Impression:
When I first popped the cap on this beer the foam immediately started pouring out of the bottle onto the floor. I think I may have read this before but forgot. I had my glass handy, so lucky was able to save most of it. Probably only lost 3-4 ounces total.
Overall I really like this beer. It feels light but has a lot of flavor and character in the middle and end. The oak and brett are very subtle but still apparent which helps let in some other great flavor. I would give this beer a A-/A.
