We have set the date for the next two brews. The next brew will be
on March 28th. We will be making a Maibock/Hellerbock style beer. I
don't have any details on the recipe yet, but will post them when I
get something substantial.
After that, the next brew will be on May 2nd. I decided to go
ahead and plan ahead for this date because it is National
Homebrew Day (a.k.a. Big Brew Day). This is a brewers association
sponsored event that seeks to promote homebrewing across the world.
On national home brew day, home brewers are expected to participate
in a "Big Brew", where a group a brewers collects at one
site to brew together. Last year "more than 10,500 gallons were
brewed by almost 4000 participants at 242 sites on six continents
worldwide. Sites were registered in 42 states in the US, as
well as in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, Israel,
Kenya, The Netherlands, Russia, and Uryguay." I have registered
my residence as a site for the May 2nd brew under the name "Carroll
County Home brewers". Hopefully we can get at least one more
person to commit to brewing at my house on the 2nd.
As for the beer were making on the 2nd, we haven't decided yet.
Considering Levitation clone, Berliner wiesse, keith's compsci ale.
If you have a suggestion let me know.
